Unfortunately it’s not a great update. After speaking with his Dr’s today, I was informed he is still fighting a nasty infection after 3 rounds of antibiotics. So we had to get a months worth of his cefpodoxime to try and give one big push to knock out this infection, which is about $100. Also, they DO want him to start the cyclosporine right away to see if we can get his vision back and stop the disease from progressing even though he still has an infection, they believe starting this medication right now is what we need to do.. I desperately want him stable again, and I want to try anything and everything possible to potentially bring his sight back, and this is the last thing we can try. But, that medication even with my Goodrx discount is over $350 for a month supply!! Which is why I am doing this post.. to beg, to plead, please help us cover these meds..please help us give him this last chance to regain his sight again and slow the progression of this horrible disease. He has been so strong, so happy, so seemingly unaffected by this disease.. until now.. and I’m not ready to let the disease win.. He LOVES his life, he loves his foster siblings, they have an amazing bond..they snuggle, kiss, wrestle, share bones, go for pack walks, sleep in bed together, and with me..I’m sharing just some of my personal pictures from the last few weeks so you can see how loving he is, and how much he is loved.
