Zoe & Ziggy, new to our rescue, need homes!

Yesterday we were at our adoption event at Pet supermarket in Boca trying to get our rescues adopted to make room for so many Abandoned and suffering that need our help. While we were packing up at the end of the event we had 2 visitors. The two women, mother and daughter, who had reached out to us about Valentine who had been shot and hit by a car. We thought they had come to visit to say hello and see how valentine was doing since that rescue. We had a short conversation about how amazing Valentine was doing since her surgery to repair her hip and her heartworm treatment. They then told us they had 2 dogs in their car. They had gone to every shelter, reached out to rescues with absolutely no luck to help these 2 dogs. The shelters told them they would kill them within 2 days. The rescues they reached out to had no room. They had been keeping them in an outside patio in the heat until their landlord gave them 1 day to remove them. As you all know our rescue is not only full, we have outstanding vet bills we are paying and fundraising to keep current on our rescues. It is a never ending battle. When you have not 1 but 2 helpless faces staring into your eyes with no place to go but a kill shelter, what do you do? We paced the parking lot trying to figure out a plan for almost an hour. We reached out to all of you for help. We decided we could not turn our backs on them. Female now named Zoey, American bulldog and Ziggy a black lab mix are now safe with us. They need medical attention. Zoey recently had a litter or more. Ziggy has irritation around his eye and his ears from living outdoors in the excruciating heat. We are waiting on blood results for both. Please help them by donating. Thank you for supporting our organization to allow us to continue. Fosters/ adopters also desperately needed.
