How The Shelter Challenge Works

Visitors to THE SHELTER CHALLENGE will have an opportunity to choose from a list of select animal rescue and welfare organizations. Visitors can cast one vote daily during each voting period to help pick the organizations which will receive support from GreaterGood.org. Voters are limited to one (1) vote per person per day for each voting contest. Participating organizations that violate or encourage supporters to violate this rule be subject to an audit of votes and possible disqualification. Votes will be accepted from Monday, October 5th, 2015, until Midnight (PT) on Sunday, November 1st, 2015.

Grant Prizes are anticipated to be distributed in the following manner: Grand Prize of $5,000 for the eligible organization with the highest vote total, $1,500 grants to two runner-up organizations with the second and third highest vote total; Photo Contest Prizes of a $1,000 grant will be awarded to the two eligible organizations represented by finalists with the highest number of votes in each of two photo contests (total of four $1,000 grants), One State Prize of $1,000 for the organization in each of the 51 states with the highest vote total; One Canadian Prize of $1,000 for the organization in Canada with the highest vote total for that country, one U.S. Organized Territories and Presidential Republics Prize of $1,000 for the organization in U.S. organized territories or presidential republics in free association with the U.S. with the highest vote total, and one International Prize of $1,000 for the organization with the highest vote total located outside the United States and Canada.
Non-Monetary Prizes:
Two sets of 50 pet beds each will be rewarded to the organizations represented by Photo Contest runners-up with the third and fourth highest total votes. 50 pet beds will be rewarded to the State Contest runner-up in each of the 51 states with the second highest vote total and 25 pet beds will be rewarded to the State Contest runner-up in each of the 51 states with the third highest vote total.
Acceptance of Prizes: Winners must accept the monetary prizes in the form of a check drawn upon a U.S. Bank and the non-monetary prizes as described above. If they decline to accept the prizes as stated in these rules, GreaterGood.org will determine an appropriate use of funds or non-monetary prizes to benefit rescued animals.
